The energy-intensive industry in NW-Europe is facing a significant challenge due to the relatively high energy prices in the region. This report analyses the policy options which can address this challenge, with the goal of creating long-term welfare. In a recent report PwC warns that immediate action is needed as the competitiveness of the region’s industry is deteriorating. Failing to respond promptly may lead to disinvestment decisions that will be difficult to reverse.
